After you have made the changes you need to the original template, images, etc. you will want to upload them to your web server.

Your website hosting service provided you with important information as shown below regarding FTP. If you did not receive this information or do not know what it is, you need to contact your hosting company first.

FTP Site:
Default directory:
Username:

Many HTML editors have the ability to upload files from within the software. Or you may opt to use a FTP utility such as WS_FTP: http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp/home/index.html

Follow the FTP instructions in your HTML editor or FTP software for specific steps.

Then upload all of the files that were in the original template package plus those you added or modified into your "default" directory on your server.

Image and applet files need to be uploaded in binary mode. CSS and HTML files are uploaded in ANSCII mode. If you are using an HTML editor such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage, the HTML editor automatically detects the upload mode.

Open your browser and type in your website URL. If uploaded correctly, your new web site developed with a BasicTemplates.com design will be displayed. Be prepared for some highly positive compliments coming your way. Our customers are always providing us feedback about how nice folks say their websites look. :)
